"How We Do It In Humboldt"
Brett McFarland wrote and sings this song about the history and life today in Humboldt County, in Northern California. Brett mentions the activities here, from cattle raising, forestry, fishing, and farming. He was arrested for growing cannabis, and spent time behind bars for this peaceful offense. The song came from his heart, based on his life experience. There is a short clip of us; a photo taken at our first large vegetable garden, 1975. It appears right when you hear the lyrics, "back to the land". You will see Tom with a shovel, and I am sitting on the ground with our two young children. Our daughter, Elan, is on my lap, and our son ,Nya, is sitting on the ground by me. In the background you can see the house we have been building. The ground was bare at that time, but 50 years later the house is surrounded by trees. You can see the video of our house in the forest in the "About Me" page here.
Brett's song can be heard on YouTube. I am going to find a way to provide a link, but hope you will check it out. It is a great song!
